My love affair with the camera started in my early twenties with the gift of Polaroid camera. Though my camera preferences have changed over the years, my love affair has not and you will usually find me with camera in hand, focusing in on an awe-inspiring landscape scene or the enchanting expression of a flower that has caught my attention.
Throughout the many years of exploring the world around me, the forest has always held a special place in my heart. I love to wander along the deer trails and quite often I will come across a nurse-log, (or mother-log, as I call them), the moss covered remains of a tree which has become home and host to a whole new community of life. These logs speak to me of the sanctity of all life on Mother Earth, of her beauty, diversity, intricacy and of a depth that sometimes moves beyond my perception. I am reminded of my honoured place as both steward and kin, appreciating and keeping watch over this precious and sometimes fragile world. It is within the space of this heartbeat that inspiration comes....
