Though I grew up in the city, my heart was alway in the country. Luckily, we lived in a beautiful river valley within walking distance of prairie-grass covered hills on one side and  the clear, cold waters of the Bow River on the other. Everyday was an adventure with new exciting discoveries to be made. This wonderful childhood habit of exploring the natural world has become ingrained within me and sojourns to neighbouring mixed-wood forest is a part of my daily routine.
